Voice of the Martyrs

Persecution exists in most countries around the world.  In the western hemisphere people are increasingly engaging in sinful life styles and dismissing th truth of the Gospel. But  Ebrahim Firouzi is steadfast in his witnessing for Christ.   And his joy comes  from his intersection with hate, disbelief, and joy for those who are no longer lost but are on the path to Heaven. view as web page “I never regret my testimony for Christ.” Ebrahim Firouzi was sentenced to 10 years in prison after his first arrest, in 2011, for his ministry work in Iran. But imprisonment didn’t hinder Firouzi’s witness to Christ. After his release, he continued sharing the gospel at every opportunity, always eager to bring hope to his Iranian neighbors. “My only priority was that people would be able to hear and receive the Word of God,” Firouzi said. He was arrested again in 2013, serving a total of seven years in prison. That imprisonment was followed by two years of internal exile, during which he was requir

Joni’s “intersection” with God in disability

is a story of triumph.  Her ministry is worldwide.  She has experienced depression, pain, limitations, and anger.  But because of her faith and receiving “healing” she’s able to minister to people with disabilities.  Her “healing” was not for her body, but for her “intersection” with God.  In bitterness she literally cried out to God and He gave her this marvelous ministry with her limitations; doing more than most people with severe limitations would just cop out of life. When we feel hopeless God joins us

(Matthew 5:3 WEB) Blessed [are] the poor in Spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven. Now, the phrase 'poor in spirit' speaks to an even deeper reality … beyond physical poverty … but to true spiritual poverty. To be poor in spirit means to acknowledge our deepest human need of God and to grow in that longing and that dependence on a daily basis.  https://www.bibleref.com But the problem is, no matter how much we plead with God, we still don't find a cure, a solution, or escape, etc. The following passage in scripture gives us the way to answer our prayer. (Luke 22:42-46 WEB) 42 <Jesus>   Saying, Father, if thou art willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine be done. 43 And there appeared to him an angel from heaven, strengthening him. 44 And being in an agony, he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling to the ground. 45 And when he arose from prayer, and had come to his disciples, he found them

Not changing circumstances

My favorite metaphor for God is the He's in a balloon looking down on a parade.  As the parade marches by we see it in time and only one float or band at a time.  Looking ahead on the route God can alter the landscape for groups to yet pass by. The real difficulty for most Christians is that they only pray for circumstances.    But follow the lives of people who've figuratively been given a lemon and they made lemonade. Sometimes God needs people to go where no one else will go.  So He allows for some tragedy for a strong Christian to step into that situation and conduct a ministry that brings the person greater joy than they had before. The wife of  Albert Pujols used to see every game he played.  She herself had been sexually assaulted as a child.  She discovered  that she could spot every  woman who had the same tragedy in their lives.  She then had a ministry to these women at every game she attended, Now she could have walked away from that opportunity.  She could have bee
